Black Mountain Bowmen January 2025 updates

Greetings BMB members, happy New Year! We hope 2025 brings you all happiness and success, both on the archery front and in your personal and professional lives.

Here are your updates for this first month of 2025:

  • New year, new board! Your BMB 2025 leadership team is:
    • President: Chris Plumeau
    • 2nd VP (Legislative Representative): Tere Johnson
    • Treasurer: Ron May-Pumphrey
    • Secretary: Viet-Tam Luu
    • Directors-At-Large: Ashley Duong, Chuck Gilbert, Lilith Mariano, Mark Nishihara, Dawnel Scott, Winston Wang
  • The weather outlook is favorable for our monthly range maintenance Work Party which will take place next Saturday, January 4.
    • Having skipped December's event, we've a bit of catching up to do; fortunately the cool weather makes a lot of maintenance activities easier, so please come and help if you can!
    • We get started around 8 AM (late arrivals okay); meet up in the main parking area by the club sheds. Please bring work/gardening gloves if you have them. Both club members and non-members are encouraged to participate; we're truly grateful for all the help we can get!
    • As a thank-you to our volunteers, we'll be serving lunch and refreshments when work activities wrap up.
    • All parts of the range will be closed to shooting, and will reopen no earlier than 2 PM.
    • Looking to log volunteer hours? Sign up via the Santa Clara County volunteering site.
  • Our monthly Club Shoot happens on Sunday, January 12. The format will be a double 300: two rounds, each round with 10 ends of 3 arrows, shot at 20 yards (18m) on individual 40cm targets (60cm for cub archers). Please help us with planning and logistics by pre-registering online for the shoot.
  • The CBH/SAA State Indoor tournament shoots are taking place at indoor ranges around the state this month. For BMB archers around the South SF Bay, nearby venues include Predator's Archery (Gilroy), Palomo Archery (Palo Alto), and Santa Cruz Archers (Santa Cruz). For venues, dates, and registration links, please visit the CBH/SAA registration web page.
  • 2025 BMB membership renewals: we're making improvements to the renewal/registration process, and expect the 2025 renewals to be open for business shortly.

That's about all for this month. (Good luck to all of our members competing at the USA Archery State and National Indoor tournaments in the coming weeks!) Stay warm and stay dry, everyone!
