Black Mountain Bowmen June 2025 updates

Hello BMB'ers!

Summer is here and outdoor tournament season is in full swing. Whether your archery interests are in target, field, or 3D, BMB is a great place to practice for any sort of competition. Here are your updates for June, 2025:

  • Jerseys have arrived! All orders placed in May have been delivered to us. If you ordered a jersey, you can pick it up at any club event at BMB, or if you can find a BMB Board member onsite we can retrieve it for you.
  • The 2025 Wednesday Night 3D League concludes in two weeks, with the final two shoots happening on June 4 and 11. The 3D League Potluck/BBQ will be held on Saturday, July 12, where we will award medals for the top finishers, raffle off prizes, and treat all our 3D League participants and volunteers to some delicious eats. (Details will be emailed to all invitees, but if you've already put it on your calendar, you can RSVP here.)
  • The June range maintenance Work Party will take place next Saturday, June 7; things will be warm but things should be a bit cooler in the morning. If you enjoy the range, please come out and help us maintain it!
    • Work starts around 8 AM (late arrivals okay); come find us in the clubhouse/picnic area by the main parking. Please bring work/gardening gloves if you have them. Both members and non-members are welcome; we appreciate any help!
    • To thank our volunteers, we'll be serving lunch and refreshments when work activities wrap up.
    • All parts of the range will be closed to shooting, and will reopen no earlier than 2 PM.
    • Looking to log volunteer hours? Sign up via the Santa Clara County volunteering site.
  • Our June Club Shoot happens the following Sunday, June 8. This month, we're doing something a bit different: a USAT-style qualifying round (shortened, 6 6-arrow ends) followed by eliminations matches. To keep brackets as large as possible, we'll have limited equipment classes, and divide archers solely by equipment and shooting distance, as this will be a practice/learning event (particularly for those headed to SoCal Showdown later this month) rather than a competition. Find out more here and preregister if you're interested, as there will be very limited space for walk-ons!
  • Registration closes on June 9 for the California State Outdoor Championships coming up on June 27-29 at the Kirigin Cellars vineyard in Gilroy. If you're interested in competing, you can register at USA Archery's website.

Good luck to everyone competing this month... Stay cool, hydrate, and put 'em in the middle!

See you at the range!
