The 3D league meets each Wednesday afternoon/evening. It is open to both BMB club members and the non-club members. We generally meet rain or shine! But, if things are really bad, we'll announce on our Facebook page and cancel or reschedule the event.
What's New for 2025
2025 Schedule
The 2025 BMB Wednesday Night 3D League will start on March 19, 2025, and runs through June 4, 2025 (assuming no rescheduled events).
League Night times: 4:00PM to ~6:00PM. These times change over the course of the league, as we get more sun-light and can/need to extend the hours. Please use our sign-up to select your preferred shoot time (think a golf tee-time). This helps with flow thru the course and tends to prevent back-ups. We used this successfully last year and many asked that we continue with it this year. Come a little early to sign-in and warm-up and we'll direct groups when to star at target #1. See below for the link to our online sign-up sheet (we typically have 4 weeks of league released at a time).
The league is a 12 week league. To qualify for awards at the end of the league, you MUST have 10 submitted scores. If you submit more than 10 scores, the 10 BEST scores will be used to determine your final total score.
We will be shooting 2 arrows per target. BOTH arrows count for score!
Target distances can range from 2-3' to ~50 yards. It depends on setup. We usually start the league out with closer distances and as the league weeks progress, we add a few more longer distances targets to the mix.
Those shooting classes other than FS and BHFS: for the long targets, we will place an orange cone closer to the target. Adult/senior FS/BHFS archers MUST shoot from numbered stakes.
League Fees
Fees are collected each week. We appreciate it if participants bring exact change. The fee structure is as follows:
- Adult (ages 16+), Senior (ages 60+): $10
- Youth (ages 12-15): $5
- Cub (ages 6-11): FREE!
We are also offering a "Buy-in" options this year. You can prepay the entire league (all 12 weeks), for a discount. The "Buy-in" is as follows:
- Adult, Senior: $100
- Youth: $50
Buy-in discount for BMB members: current BMB members, present your membership card or other proof of membership at the Registration table to receive a one-time $10 cash rebate on your buy-in payment ($5 for youth).
PLEASE NOTE: All "Buy-in" purchases are final! We will not track your attendance and return money on weeks you did not attend. However, should we be forced to cancel any events that we can't reschedule, we will refund buy-in shooters $8 ($4 for youth) per canceled event short of the full 12 planned.
You can pay league fees online by going to our 3D League Fees page.

Age Divisions
We offer 4 simplified age divisions:
- Senior (ages 60+)
- Adult (ages 16+)
- Youth (ages 12-15)
- Cub (ages 6-11)
Senior and Youth archers may choose to compete in the Adult division.
Equipment Classes
For 2025, we will be offering equipment classes allowed by the 2024 CBH/SAA rules; please refer to those and to the NFAA rules for clarifications. A summary (with scorecard class abbreviations):
- Barebow (BB): a compound bow without sights. (NFAA Article II.B)
- Bowhunter freestyle (BHFS): a compound bow with a fixed pin(s) sight, shot using a release aid. (NFAA Article II.E)
- Freestyle (FS): a compound bow + any accessories. (NFAA Article II.C).
- Freestyle limited (FSL): a compound bow shot with fingers. (NFAA Article II.D)
- Freestyle limited recurve (FSLR): a recurve bow with sights and other accessories, e.g. Olympic-style recurve. (NFAA Article II.G)
- Traditional (Tr): recurve or longbow, with optional arrow rest, plunger, and short stabilizer; no string-walking allowed. (NFAA Article II.F)
- Longbow (LB): a straight-ended bow with optional arrow shelf. (NFAA Article II.J)
- Recurve off-the-shelf (ROTS): a recurve bow, without sights, arrow rest or plunger; no string-walking allowed (CBH/SAA Article I.A.1.B)
- Barebow Recurve (BBR): a recurve bow, without sights, with rest and plunger; string/face walking allowed (NFAA Article II.I)
Ranged or Unmarked
Participants MUST choose which division they're participating in, Ranged or Unmarked.
- Ranged: participants may use a range-finding device to calculate distance to the target.
- Unmarked: participants must guess the distance to the target. No devices are allowed.
Those participating in the "Ranged" division must keep their information private, if archers in the group are shooting unmarked.
Groups & Range Flow
In an effort to keep participant groups moving through the targets, we are keeping the group sizes limited to 6 participants. We also ask that archers shoot concurrently (that is, not 1 at a time). For example, if you're in a group with 4 archers, all 4 archers can shoot at the same time. A group of 6 archers could shoot with 3 archers and then the next 3 archers could shoot. It's all about keeping things moving, as efficiently as possible.
League Weekly Sign-Ups
For 2025, we are discontinuing sign-up times and slots.
Shooting groups will be allowed onto the course as soon as it is ready (no later than 4pm), and up until 6pm (or slightly later as daylight allows, at organizers' discretion). We encourage participants to organize shooting groups (of no more than 6 archers) ahead of time or at the event. Shoot with your buddies, or make new friends!
Awards
We will keep weekly totals and publish the information as quickly as possible. For awards, we require that there be at least 3 participants in a division/class (e.g. Female-Cub-Traditional) to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. If there are not enough participants, we will re-group participants, at the league administrator's discretion! We will try to place archers in the nearest "like" group, if needed.
Volunteers
We need volunteers to operate the events; lack of staffing may result in event postponement or cancellation!
ALL VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE COMPLIMENTARY (FREE) ENTRY FEES FOR THE EVENT.
For each event, we need:
- 2 Set-Up volunteers to help set up the course: place 3D targets, stakes, etc.
Set-up begins at 2pm; meet the 3D League Chief at the BMB range parking lot. - 2 Registration volunteers to check-in archers, handle payments and waivers. Registration volunteers will be given enough time off to shoot.
Registration opens shortly before 4pm; find a BMB event official at the Registration table, in the "picnic area" between the parking lot and the Practice Range. - 1-2 Teardown volunteers who follow the last shooting group of the day, taking down targets, picking up stakes, and making sure everything is left tidy.
Meet the 3D League Chief at Registration around 6pm. To speed things along, teardown begins just after the last group of the day has started; the teardown crew follows that group and takes down each target after the last group finishes there.
You can sign up for volunteer positions via the 3D League volunteer sign-up form. If you haven't signed up ahead of time and there are open volunteer opportunities, you can also just show up at the appointed time and location.
