Candidate Statements
Below are candidate statements from candidates who provided them:
- Tere Johnson (2nd Vice-President / Legislative Representative)
I currently serve as the liaison between BMB and Santa Clara County Parks and participate in monthly BMB Board meetings. I have become familiar with the leadership team and some of the challenges and opportunities the club is working on.
I have many years of experience serving on Boards and Leadership Teams including being the current 2nd VP for California Bowmen Hunters State Target Tournament, current Chair of the Santa Clara County Historic Heritage Commission, current Board Member of Morgan Hill Historical Society, former President of the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association, founder and former Chair of the Santa Clara County Preservation Alliance, former Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Director and many others.
I am retired but previously held management and leadership positions such as Executive Director for Bridge Hospice, Operations Manager for South Valley Community Church, IBM Customer Satisfaction Manager for a world wide customer service team, and many more leadership positions.
BMB has a long history of serving the archery community in Santa Clara County. I see lots of opportunity for BMB to grow in membership and service, and be one of the premiere archery ranges in central California. I believe I have the experience and skills to support and help lead the club.
- Viet-Tam Luu (Secretary)
My fellow BMB members, it's been my honor to serve you as club Secretary this past year. I'm proud of all the work I've been able to do for our organization in my first year in the role: sending out monthly updates; publishing posts to the BMB website and Facebook page; restructuring and updating the BMB website; widening use of online payments for club events and activities; publishing meeting minutes to the club website; responding to inquiries from club members and non-members alike. In the coming year I hope to build upon this work, further modernizing BMB's online presence, streamlining club processes and operations, and improving communications. Thank you for your consideration.
